I recently had the pleasure of reviewing the Wine Club by Uncorked Ventures. This is a family owned and operated start-up based outside of San Francisco. They spend time in wine country (California, Oregon, and Washington) getting to know the winemakers, farmers, and vineyard owners to find the best wines to send club members.
Uncorked Ventures offers three different Wine Club options: The Explorations Wine Club which offers a 2-bottle shipment of one white and one red for $40 per shipment. The Special Selections Wine Club which includes 2 bottles of red wines that are limited production and high-demand varieties of wine for $95. And the Reserve Selections Wine Club which includes 2 or 3 of the most impressive red wines from the West Coast for $195 per shipment.
Each shipment can be ordered monthly, every other month, quarterly, or even just one shipment if you want to try it without any obligation. The Wine Club is a great way to try out new, high-quality wines (all rated 90 points or above) selected by experts who know them best. Plus, each shipment comes with tasting notes and winery information - so you can
It was so exciting to get this shipment - I couldn't wait to find out which wine I was going to try! I received one bottle from the Special Selections Wine Club, which retails around $50. The 2010 VinRoc RTW (Red Table Wine) from Napa Valley scores a rating of 90 and is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Tasting notes point out the layers of dark fruit, mocha, spices and licorice with sweet floral notes developing in the glass. I tried this wine on a Saturday night with my friend Chris. We're both wine lovers but neither of us have ever tasted such a high-quality and expensive wine before, so it was a fun experience.
I love that Uncorked Ventures is a family-owned business and that they hand-pick the wine selections for the wine clubs. It's a truly unique experience with each shipment you receive, and you're sure to discover wines that you love.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
