Can you believe it's already August? I don't know where the summer went! Oh wait, yes I do... It went to summer fun, vacations, and family time! I hope you are all having wonderful adventures this summer too.
As for me, I spent a week in June up north at the cabin on Big Birch Lake with my family. It was really relaxing:

No vacation would be complete without a trip to a museum, according to my dad. He and I went to the
Runestone Museum in Alexandria, Minnesota one hot afternoon (Can you believe nobody else in my family wanted to visit a museum when they could be out on the lake?)
It was fascinating to learn about the
Kensington Runestone and its possible Norse Viking origins:

The biggest Cheapskate-style part of our vacation was our annual trip to the St. Cloud Goodwill and Savers for some serious thrift-shopping. We heart Goodwill! I found so many great things, including several pairs of brand new Target brand (Merona) heels for $1.99 - Talk about a bargain!

| All my treasures from Goodwill and Savers. |
 |
| I paid less than $30 for 8 pairs of shoes! |
 |
| $4.99 Water Fountain Cat Bowl - Rocky loves it. |
 |
| My favorite purchase - It was $9.99 but so cool! Bamboo lap desk with built-in cup holder and book/magazine rack on the side. |

Well, that about wraps up my summer vacation! ....Oh wait, we also did this:
