Glee Gum "Make Your Own Chocolate Kit" Review & Giveaway 2/11

Glee Gum is all natural chewing gum made with sustainably harvested rainforest chicle. It comes in six great flavors: cinnamon, peppermint, tangerine, bubblegum, spearmint, and triple berry. Glee Gum is the #1 healthy alternative to synthetic chewing gum and bubble gum! With no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners (no aspartame), or preservatives, it's easy to chew Glee-fully! I received some samples of Glee Gum in the various flavors and was impressed with the taste and quality of the gum. My favorite flavor was Triple Berry, it was the perfect amount of sweetness. I really appreciate that these don't have any artificial ingredients - it's hard to find all-natural products these days!

Glee also offers a variety of fun candy-making kits for children and adults alike. I was given the opportunity to review the Make Your Own Chocolate Kit, which was so much fun and very tasty! Mixing elements of chemistry with world culture and history, this delicious kit contains everything you'll need to make 8 ounces of dark chocolate. Can be made on the stove or with a microwave. Great for class room activities, scout troops, birthday parties, home school, or after school. Makes a great gift for kids! The kit includes organic cocoa butter, cocoa powder, confectioner's sugar, starter crystals, a temperature indicator, paper candy liners, instructions, and the story of chocolate.

All you have to do is melt the cocoa butter, add the cocoa powder and sugar. Stir, stir, stir until it cools to the right temperature; add the starter crystals so that the chocolate "tempers," and enjoy delicious home-made chocolate from scratch! You also get some cacao beans to taste. We really enjoyed making the chocolate, my brother and I experimented with the kit at my grandmother's house one Sunday. It was very fun and a great learning experience!

We even followed the suggestions in the kit and added some things to our chocolates like peanut butter in the middle (which was amazing) and pretzel pieces. It was so fun to be able to make our own chocolate and gave us a new respect for the work that goes into it. The chocolate was absolutely amazing and rich, it was perfect. We all had a fun treat eating homemade chocolates at Grandma's house that day!

I think these Make Your Own Candy kits are a marvelous idea and a really great teaching tool for kids (and adults!) It's so much fun to do something yourself and learn about the history and background in the process. I would recommend this kit to anyone who likes chocolate or for parents, teachers, and childcare providers as a fun activity to involve children in.
