Merry Christmas To All
Merry Christmas to all my blog followers, friends, and family!
I've never sent out an actual Christmas letter (just Christmas cards), so this year I thought I'd blog a little Christmas letter to everyone.
2010 was quite the year for me. It started out rough, but it is ending better than I could've imagined. God has blessed me with life-changing events this year - events that have positively impacted my life and changed me for the better, even though they didn't seem so positive at the time. I've gained insight, inspiration, motivation, and new opportunities. And I've had the support of friends, family, and acquaintances all along the way. I am thankful for everyone in my life and for all the new paths I've taken.
In July, I started this blog and have loved blogging ever since. I really enjoy product reviews and giveaways, and although I haven't had as much time to devote to C4L this month, I will be doing even more in 2011. In August, I was chosen to host a Playstation Move party thanks to House Party, and I got the new Playstation Move controllers and games before they even hit stores. It was lots of fun and exciting to get such a cool thing for free.
In September I participated in my very first 5k. Although I didn't run the entire thing, I finished faster than I expected and accomplished it despite the 46 degree temps and rain that morning. It was a good feeling. I also took my puppy Dotty on a fund-raising walk that month for a local humane society.
In October, Dotty won the Petco costume contest for her pirate costume! It was lots of fun and she won a Petco gift card, professional portraits, and a 1st place ribbon. I also held a Halloween costume party complete with spooky themed food, creepy decorations, and a costume contest with a 1GB MP3 player for the Best Costume winner.
In November, I became a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. It's not only a great activity for me since I love makeup and helping others, but I've also met some wonderful ladies and enjoyed the weekly meetings and events of my unit. I also accepted a new job at Navitor Midwest, part of the Taylor Corporation, as a Chat/Social Media Representative. Navitor is a print company for business products, and I've enjoyed learning all about the printing processes and items so that I can chat online with customers to help them order online or answer any questions they have. You all know I love typing, so chatting every day doesn't feel so much like "work" but more like helping others while utilizing my English degree and communication skills. I am also looking forward to the social media campaigns we will be starting in the new year.
Also in November, my beautiful niece was born early and after a few weeks in the hospital, she was able to come home. She is the cutest bundle of joy in the world. Born at only 4 1/2 pounds, she is the strongest baby I have ever seen. She is about 6 1/2 pounds now and loves moving her arms and legs, lifting her head (seriously), and trying to roll over. She smiles, laughs, and loves to look around and see the world. I'm looking forward to spoiling her even more in the months to come.
At the beginning of December, I won the local Biggest Loser competition that was started with a few acquaintances back in September. We all put in a nominal amount of money, and at the end of the competition, the first place winner received 75% of the money and the second place winner won 25%. So I not only lost 11.71% of my body weight, but I won the competition and gained a tidy sum of money in the process! It was awesome, but even better was the fact that I wasn't losing for the competition, but for myself. So far I am down 30 pounds, and still working at it.
Now it is almost Christmas and I still can't believe how fast the year went by. I'm looking forward to spending Christmas Day at my Grammy's house like we do every year.. Hopefully New Year's Eve will be exciting this year - I'm sure it will be, and I can't wait to see what 2011 has in store for me and those around me.
Love you all,
