Christmas Party Mix Recipe

Here in Minnesnowta, we were in a blizzard warning all weekend and in my area, we got about 8 inches of snow with drifts up to 3 feet and higher. Even the mall closed down yesterday, despite the fact that there are only 2 more shopping weeks left until Christmas!

I made the most of being snowed in by writing out Christmas cards and doing some crafts, and my mom spent the day over at her house cooking, baking and playing card games with my brother and dad.

My mom makes the most glorious garlic Christmas Party Mix, so I thought I'd share the recipe with you in case you're snowed in or just want to make some fun goodies for your family or co-workers! This will be a hit at your Christmas party or holiday gathering!

Christmas Party Mix

1 lg box Crispix (17.9oz)
2 bags cheese Combos (8.5oz) I sometimes use the cheese/pretzel Combos
1 lg box cheese nips (13.5oz)
1 bag small pretzels (10oz) I like to use the Christmas Tree shape for the holiday
1 bag oyster crackers (12oz)
1 bag Goldfish (8-9oz)
2 12oz cans mixed nuts
1 small box Golden Grahams

1 bottle Orville Redbacher Popcorn Oil
1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
1 Tablespoon garlic Powder

- Empty all dry ingredients into large clean plastic garbage bag.
- Mix oil and powders in glass bowl and warm in microwave on high 1-2 min -doesn't need to be hot, just warm so all the powders mix with oil.
- Stir to blend oil mixture and pour over dry ingredients.
- Close bag securely and "roll" ingredients to mix -I grab top and bottom of bag . Roll about 1 min.

This makes a huge amount of snack mix for all the parties and freezes well.

Enjoy :)

Loved your reference to "Minnesnowta!!"

I am in Detroit (who welcomes you warmly tomorrow)...and we are getting hit now....we are going to have about 7 inches when it is all over and it has become frigid!!

Perfect comfort food and snack food weather! :)
