Issues with Couponing

Have you ever had issues with couponing? I went to Walgreens tonight and thought that an item was on sale for $4.99 and I had a $3 coupon, but after I left, I discovered that I was supposed to use an instant value coupon from the Walgreens coupon book to get the $2 off of the $6.99 item. I hate when I buy a product simply to get it super cheap, and then later discover I paid $3.99 instead of $1.99. Oh well.

Then I went to Cub and only saved 10% of my bill! I was sad because I spent $140 and I am only shopping for myself! I did however buy lots of meat products which are more expensive because I decided I'm going to try the Atkins Nutritional Approach since I liked the bars so much. Anyway, it was very disappointing to spend that much and only save $14 dollars with coupons. I did however get a printed manufacturer's coupon printed out at the checkout for $5 off my next shopping trip compliments of Kraft Foods. I don't know exactly which item I bought that caused this coupon to be printed but it must have been a Kraft product! I haven't been good about coupons lately because of a lack of time, but I want to get back into it hardcore so I hope to have more matchups and tips for you in the near future.

So tell me, what are your coupon tips? Have you had any issues at particular stores? What can I do to save more next time?

BTW, I always have coupon issues at Walgreens for some reason.
