{CLOSED} Yoreganics Review & {Giveaway #9}

Have you ever heard of soap nuts? They are dried fruit berries that fall from the soapberry tree found in northern India and Nepal. The shells contain saponin, which creates a natural soap when agitated in water. They effectively clean, soften and remove odors from your laundry - in a completely natural way!

Well, I had never heard of soap nuts until I received a sample from Yoreganics. Yoreganics is a company that makes organic products. Their motto is "In the days of yore...life was simple and cleaning was natural." I received the Yore Laundry Trio Sampler which included a small canvas bag of soap nuts, a stain remover made from organic ingredients and their "brightens and whitens" which is a chlorine-free brightener. I had a great opportunity to test these out right away, as it was laundry day when I received these products! I read the instructions that came with them, and found that the bag of soap nuts and brights & whitens work better in warm water than cold. The directions say to soak both separately in warm water for a few minutes before adding to laundry if you are using cold water. Since I always use cold water, I had to do this. It seemed like it would be a hassle, but it really didn't take that much time or effort. I also used the stain remover on a particularly nasty spaghetti sauce stain. I wasn't sure how well the soap nuts would work since, well, they're nuts! (Actually they're a fruit, so anyone with nut allergies can use them) But I found that these Yoreganics products work great! The stain was gone and my clothes looked and smelled clean and fresh.

The convenient thing about the soap nuts is that you throw the whole bag of nuts into the wash machine and then after the load is done you take the bag out and set it out to dry and save it for the next load. You can use these bags for several loads. Yoreganics also sent me their lip balm which I love - I have used it every day since I got it. It doesn't have a strong smell and it leaves my lips perfectly moisturized. The best part is that it leaves a little tingle, and it's completely organic to boot.

My Opinion
Yoreganics laundry products are great, especially the soap nuts. It feels great to use something natural on my clothes and know that I'll still get the results I want. I also love the lip balm and considering how much lip balm gets into your body when you lick your lips or whatnot, it's very nice to know that all the ingredients of the Yoreganics lip balm are organic.

Yore-ganics is taking the ideas from days of "yore" and mixing it with or"ganics" - a very cool concept.
