Soda Stream Review

Have you ever gotten to make your own soda? Or choose which flavor you want on the spot without having to go buy a new pack or bottle of pop from the store? Thanks to the SodaStream, now you can! SodaStream generously sent me their Fountain Jet which makes delicious soda and sparkling water in less than 30 seconds! I was so excited to get this just in time for my Playstation Move House Party (photos of the party coming soon!) I received the Fountain Jet, CO2 cylinder, two 1-litter bottles, and nine different soda flavorings.

The SodaStream was incredibly easy to use, once we installed the CO2 cylinder, the rest was a piece of cake! All you do is screw one of the 1-Liter bottles filled with water onto the front of the jet, press down quickly three times on the button to carbonate the water, and then add a cap full of whichever flavor you choose to the bottle! The pop was delicious, with both regular and diet flavorings. At first I felt guilty for drinking the regular pop flavors, but when I looked at the nutrition labels I was very happy to find that I was consuming less sugar, calories, carbohydrates and sodium than national drink brands and that the regular flavorings are sweetened with a combination of sugar and Splenda® brand sweetener. (The sodamix cola is only 35 calories compared to Coca-Cola which has 100 calories!) Plus the diet sodamix flavors contain no sugar, no aspartame and are sweetened with Splenda® brand sweetener. So not only is the SodaStream super easy to use with no batteries or electricity required, but it also saves waste because you don't have to buy several bottles or cans every week, and it's more nutritious than store-bought soda! How can you beat that?

The SodaStream was definitely a hit at my party, everyone wanted to try the different flavors. Everyone thought the Root Beer was amazing, and the other flavors like the cola tasted just like their brand-name counterparts. The fruity flavors were very good as well, and the Energy flavor tasted exactly like Red Bull. The only flavor that I personally didn't care for was the Diet Lemon-Lime. It just didn't taste that good, but all of the other flavors were amazing! The SodaStream is great for parties or having people over, but it's also wonderful for people or families who consume a lot of soda. Less waste, less calories, less space, and more options! Plus it will save you money in the long run if you buy lots of soda.

All in all, I think the SodaStream is awesome and I am so happy to have one! All of the guests at my party loved it, and I love how easy it is and how convenient it is to pick out whatever flavor I feel like at the moment. Thanks SodaStream!

You can actually order replacements right on the SodaStream website, and for a cheaper price you can send your empty can back and get a new one with their exchange program. (See http://www.sodastreamusa.com/60L-Carbonators-C38.aspx)

There are 60-Liter cans or 110-Liter cans so they should last awhile! Each machine comes with a canister as well.

My parents and I had something similar to this growing up, it was called sodamate or something like that. It was really great until the company went out of business in MN and it was expensive to get the refill cartriges shipped. Ill have to tell my dad about this company. Any idea if they are going to have a booth at the State Fair?
