Beauty on a Budget: Hard Candy Cosmetics Review

PhotobucketThe wonderful people at Hard Candy sent me some of their makeup products to review, just in time to kickoff my Beauty on a Budget event here at Cheapskate4Life! I received Hard Candy Moon Glow luminizing powder, Curl Up & Dye lash curling mascara in Ink, and Lip Tattoo lip stain & breath freshening gloss in Petal, and I had so much fun testing them out!

My favorite product is the Lip Tattoo lip stain & gloss. I've never tried a lip stain before because it seems like most of them would be drying, plus they almost always look dark or are red shades and very matte. Well, not this lip stain! This pretty pink gel stain actually has a shimmer quality to it so when you put it on it looks like you have a nice luminous lipstick on. But, rather than being like a lipstick and rubbing off easily or leaving residue on my water bottle, this cute color stayed on for hours! And with the refreshing, moisturizing clear gloss over the top, the Lip Tattoo is a wonderful combination! The best part is that according to the Hard Candy website, they have this particular lip stain in nude and lighter colors too! I might just have to buy one of those shades since the Petal color is a little more pink than I usually wear, but I still really like it! It's such a great formula that I will be using this daily.

I really liked the Curl Up & Dye mascara, and I love the clever name too. This lash curling mascara does exactly what it is supposed to - curls and dyes eyelashes. It didn't flake or clump either. The Moon Glow luminizing powder is really cool, it is a sheer face powder with tiny, subtle shimmer in it. It gave me a nice glow and looked really cute, especially in the sun - It kind of reminded me of Twilight, where the vampires sparkle in the sun, lol! But don't worry - it's not that obvious, it's a very subtle shimmer and is a nice addition to your makeup routine when you want to look extra cute! I also think this will be a nice powder to brighten up my skin during the winter months. I enjoyed the fun heart-shaped sponge and the nice mirror inside the powder compact too.

The Hard Candy collection is available exclusively at Walmart, but you can view the products on the Hard Candy website too. According to Walmart online, the Lip Tattoo and Curl Up & Dye are only $6! I couldn't find a price on the Moon Glow, but I'm guessing it's under $10. All in all, this is a great, cute makeup collection for any Cheapskate!
