Beauty on a Budget: Mr. Right (for Your Hair) - Pantene Review

A few months ago, I received sample sized bottles of Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Solutions Flat to Volume shampoo and conditioner to test out, courtesy of VocalPoint.

After using the test bottles up, I actually went out and bought full-size bottles of Flat to Volume shampoo and conditioner. They were only about $4 each at the drug store, and I had $2 off coupons too. So I bought them at a real steal. In the past, I would only buy salon shampoos, but now that I am a Cheapskate4Life, I'm always on the hunt for great products at cheap prices! I have tested out a few other low-priced brands of shampoo, but they left my hair way too soft and flat (even the "volumizing" formulas!) But with Pantene Flat to Volume, I definitely see and feel more volume in my hair. It does feel like it adds some buildup to my hair, like many hair products, so I do use a professional clarifying shampoo every once in awhile when I feel the need.

I liked this product line so much that I even ended up buying the Touchable Volume Hairspray and the Lasting Volume Hairspray. I must say that I use the Touchable Volume Hairspray (non-aerosol) on a daily basis, but only use the aerosol Lasting Volume spray once in awhile because makes my hair too stiff and unnatural. I mainly bought it if I wanted to try some crazy hairstyles that need some heavy hairspray. I did see some negative reviews of the hairsprays on the Pantene website, so if you are picky about hairspray, you might want to try something else. But for everyday use when you're just throwing your hair up for work (as I often do), it works just fine.

Pantene Pro-V's Fine Hair Solutions line also includes "Dry to Moisturized" and "Fragile to Strong" formulas. They also have lines for Curly, Medium-Thick, and Colored hair. I would recommend Pantene Pro-V for any Cheapskate who wants a low-priced customized haircare product, but you may need to try it out first to find the formula that works for you. I have seen sample-size sets being sold for a dollar or two at Walgreens for consumers to try before they buy full-sized. Pantene Pro-V is available at most drug stores and mass retailers.
