Beauty on a Budget: Loreal Studio Secrets Magic Base Review
After testing out the Hard Candy Lip Tattoo lip stain, I just had to order one in the nude color - Barely There - from Walmart for $6 with free shipping (P.S. I love it!) So I just got the package yesterday and it also came with a sample of Loreal's Studio Secrets Perfecting Magic Base Secret No. 1. I figured I'd try it this morning, since lately my powder foundation is too light for me and I no longer care for liquid foundation.
All summer I've just been using concealer and an invisible powder on my face. But it always lacked the smooth look of having foundation on, which is where the Magic Base comes in quite handy! You can use it under your foundation to help smooth out your skin and keep it from getting oily, or you can use it alone in place of foundation to smooth and hide imperfections. It definitely did what it claims to do, and it even left my skin with a matte look which is great for my oily skin. After applying the base, I simply used a bit of concealer and then put sheer powder over the top, which is so much easier than foundation during the summer; Plus now I don't have to worry about finding the right shade of foundation either (which is dang near impossible!)
I liked the sample so much that I just purchased two sets of Loreal Studio Secrets Magic Base from Walgreens online since there is a deal right now. Not only is it Buy 1, Get 1 50% off, but you can also enter coupon code SALE20 for 20% off your cosmetics/beauty supply online order! The perfecting base is a little expensive, but I was able to get two of them for around $22, so that's not entirely bad... and considering I'd have spent that money on finding the right shade of foundation, it all evens out :)
