Beauty on a Budget: Lily Organics Review

I was recently given the opportunity to review some skincare products from Lily Organics Dew Fresh Skin Care, and I chose to try the Seaweed Balancing Facial Cleanser and the Balancing Facial Toner.

If you have never heard of Lily Organics before, it is the first and only skincare company in the world to actually become a USDA certified organic grower! Lily Organics creates its handmade, organic skincare products by incorporating ingredients from Lily's organic farm, essential oils from natural botanicals, and other organically grown herbs. Their products are 100% non-synthetic and chemical free, and are freshly produced each week in the company's FDA-inspected lab.

As much as I love makeup and beauty products, it's true that most of them include synthetic chemicals that aren't always good for our health. And that's why it's so great that Lily Organics makes all of their products with natural ingredients. I was a bit skeptical about their claim that these all-natural products would work as well as synthetic skincare products, but I was proven wrong!

I received the Seaweed Balancing Cleanser and Balancing Toner in the 1 oz size, and although these were the smaller sized bottles, I found that you really don't need to use much to get great results. A little bit of these products will go a long way. They really pack a punch, and I can already tell a difference in my skin.

The Seaweed Cleanser has a definite herbal smell which kind of reminds me of Vapo-Rub, but it's not too strong of a scent. I actually like it - it's refreshing. The best part about the Seaweed Balancing Cleanser is that you can either use it with water to cleanse and then rinse off, or you can put some on a cottonball to remove your makeup. I tried it both ways and I actually prefer using it wet - it left my face feeling smooth and fresh. It didn't dry out my skin or cause any irritation no matter which way I used it (which I was a little worried about).

The Balancing Facial Toner is great because it not only tones and hydrates your face, but it actually helps heal and acts as an astringent for acne. After using it on my entire face each night, I also dabbed a little extra on spots where I had blemishes, and I actually can see the difference in just a few days! The only thing I don't like about the toner is that it seems to absorb into the cotton pad easily, so the pad still feels dry when I'm rubbing it on my face. I ended up using a lot of the toner the first few times I tried it because I'm accustomed to having my cotton ball soaking-wet with toner! But again, I think a little goes a long way and since the ingredients are all natural it obviously won't go on exactly the same as a synthetic toner.

All in all, I think Lily Organics products are a great alternative to synthetic products. Not only are they just as effective as the expensive store brands, but they are also safe for you and for the environment. Prices are reasonable too - $16. 79 for a full-size 3.4 oz bottle of the Balancing Toner and $20.79 for a  3.4 oz bottle of the Seaweed Balancing Cleanser. These prices may seem a little steep, especially for the Beauty on a Budget event, but considering that the products are handmade with natural, organic ingredients, I would say these prices are pretty Cheapskate-worthy! They also offer the 1 oz. bottles as well as sample packets for purchase if you don't want to spend as much or if you want to test out the products before you buy.

Disclaimer: I was given Lily Organics free of charge for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own experiences with the product. Individual results may vary. No other compensation was given.
