Review: COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion Mascara

I was recently given the opportunity to try out COVERGIRL's new LashBlast Fusion Mascara, thanks to being a BzzAgent! Not only did I receive a free mascara, but I also got six "$2 off any COVERGIRL product" coupons to share! COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion is hypo-allergenic, smudgeproof, flakeproof, and rubproof, as well as suitable for contact lens wearers.

I was a bit skeptical of this mascara in the beginning, since I had never tried COVERGIRL (CG) mascara, and frankly haven't used CG makeup since my high school days. So when I first opened my package and found the large, round purple tube, I wondered how it could possibly combine volume AND length into one formula, as it claims. Then, to my surprise, I pulled out the wand to find that it was huge! I have never seen a mascara brush like this and was a little intimidated by its size, but let me tell you, this brush is amazing! In the past, I had always had to use a little mascara comb to separate lashes that got stuck together after applying mascara. With this brush, you literally just need to swipe once and you're set. I honestly really love the brush.

On to the formula: When I first tried LashBlast Fusion, I didn't find that it added major length, at least not with one coat. However, my lashes looked full and thick - more than with any other mascara I've tried. It even looked quite natural, like I just naturally had lush eyelashes, which is what I think makes this a great mascara for daily use. I did try putting on a few more coats the next time I used LashBlast Fusion, and found that I could get the dramatic, lengthened look I wanted by applying more (see photo).

Overall, I feel that COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion is a great everyday thickening mascara, and can also give you a dramatic, lengthened look if you apply several coats.
