Complete Anti-Aging Moisturizer by Foxbrim Review

Complete Anti-Aging Moisturizer by Foxbrim Review Foxbrim's Complete Anti-Aging Moisturizer contains a 1% Retinol complex with vitamin A and antioxidants. Normally, Retinol can cause dryness, flaking, and/or irritation of the skin, but the Retinol in this moisturizer is pure and formulated with soothing natural antioxidants so it is safe even for sensitive skin. I myself have sensitive skin and often experience irritation in my cheeks, but my skin was been LOVING this formula. And I have not experienced any irritation or redness whatsoever.

Before using this, my skin had been breaking out with little bumps on my forehead and along my jawline but it's all cleared up and smooth again after just a few weeks of use. My face also looks more plump and younger. This moisturizer works for everything from acne and blemishes to wrinkles and dryness.

I've been using it every night after Foxbrim's hyaluronic acid serum, and my skin looks and feels great. I am definitely going to continue using it. It's made of 100% natural and organic ingredients with no parabens or additives. My only complaint is that I wish the 1 oz. bottle was bigger since I use it so often!

Town Haunts by Cathy Spencer - Book Review

Town Haunts by Cathy Spencer - Book ReviewTown Haunts is the second novel in the Anna Nolan mystery series by author Cathy Spencer. The tagline - "It takes a witch to catch a ghost" - sums up the novel well, although don't get the wrong idea that it's your average horror-story material. It is a well-written suspenseful mystery with enough drama, romance, and thrills to keep me entertained from chapter to chapter. Cathy's writing and attention to detail made it easy for me to get invested in the characters and stay emerged in the story.

The story is set in a small town where everybody knows one another, which in itself made the book really interesting for me. I enjoyed learning about each character's relationship to one another and the history that got them to where they are in the present. The book is also set in October, right before Halloween, in crisp Autumn weather - making this the perfect time to read the book. It's aptly described as a "cozy mystery" and was a great read while cuddled up and sipping spiced apple tea.

Just to give you an idea of what the book is all about, here is the synopsis of Town Haunts:

Cemetery caretaker Sherman Mason is horrified to hear his dead wife calling to him from her grave. He asks newcomer Tiernay Rae, a gorgeous witch and proprietor of the Healing Hands store, to hold a séance to find out what’s troubling his wife’s ghost. Tiernay needs a coven to focus her powers, however, so her roguish brother, Greg, suggests that Anna Nolan and her two friends help ‒ “the maiden, the mother, and the crone” as he calls them. But with Halloween fast approaching and the séance unleashing a malicious evil in the small town of Crane, can Tiernay stop it before someone gets hurt, or even killed?

Honestly, I was very impressed with Cathy's writing and her ability to be descriptive enough to draw the reader into the story but not overly descriptive that it gets distracting. She is an independent writer with her own publishing company, Comely Press, and I would love to read her other stories as well.

I highly recommend this book, especially to read in the Fall season. It was hard to put down! It is available as an ebook or a printed version on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, and iTunes.

Adovia Moisturizing Day Cream Review

Adovia's Moisturizing Day Cream is a thick cream that is meant to be applied to the face in the morning, either alone or as a makeup base. This moisturizing cream is non-greasy and provides a matte finish, which makes it perfect for a polished daytime look. It creates a smooth base for applying makeup so that it's easier to spread concealers or foundations. At the same time, the Dead Sea mineral complex maintains a natural moisture balance in the skin, making it look more radiant throughout the day.

Adovia Moisturizing Day Cream Review
In my experience, this cream is very moisturizing and makes my skin look matte and non-shiny. I like wearing it under makeup because it makes everything look more smooth and even. The only thing I noticed is that when I've applied this in the morning and then sweat a lot - for example when I went to a baseball game in hot humid weather - I can feel the sweat bead up on my inner cheeks along the sides of my nose. I think it's just that the sweat kind of sticks to the moisturizer or something - It's not really visible but just feels different than usual. I just dab off the sweat and then it's good to go.

Adovia's moisturizing cream is gentle on my sensitive skin and provides hydration without any irritation. I believe the Dead Sea minerals also help to make my skin look healthier too.

TRUE SOL Omega 3 Fish Oil Review

True Sol's Omega 3 Fish Oil supplements contain essential fatty acids that are important for health and wellness. They are triple strength with 1500 mg Omega 3 and an enteric coating for optimal absorption.
TRUE SOL Omega 3 Fish Oil Review

So what do essential fatty acids actually do? They can promote heart health, increase brain function, reduce inflammation, improve mood, and promote skin health. Of course some of these benefits are harder to actually feel than others, but so far after taking this supplement for a couple weeks, I have noticed that my overall sense of well-being has improved. I feel more energetic and balanced, and less stressed. And I've noticed my hair and nails getting stronger and shinier too, which may be another benefit. But mainly, I just feel good knowing that I am doing something good for my health. I do believe these are great for hearth health and I know many doctors recommend Omega 3's.

These capsules are large like most Omega 3's, but I take one at a time so I can swallow them easier. They also don't leave any fishy aftertaste, which is awesome! I haven't noticed any negative side effects taking these either. They are made in the USA with mercury-free sustainable fish oil.

Trim Fuel Low-Carb Protein Shakes Review & Giveaway

Trim Fuel Protein Shakes are gluten-free, low-carb whey protein shake powders that come in different flavors. They are made with high quality whey protein isolate that's processed at a low temperature so it's easier to digest and absorbs better into the body. The protein powder is also fortified with amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. One serving (scoop) of Trim Fuel has 24 grams of protein and less than 2 carbs.
Trim Fuel Low-Carb Protein Shakes Review & Giveaway

I received 4 single serving packs of Trim Fuel to try in each of the flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla, Mocha Latte, and Apple Cinnamon. My favorite - surprisingly - was Apple Cinnamon! I mixed it with almond milk and it was really tasty on a crisp Autumn day. My second favorite flavor was Chocolate; It tasted really good and smooth. Sometimes the taste of protein powder isn't all that appealing, but I genuinely liked the Trim Fuel flavors. The powder also mixed really well with almond milk or water in a blender bottle - no chunks or grainy texture. It was just a smooth, good-tasting shake.

As someone who is living low-carb, these shakes fit perfectly into my daily routine. I enjoyed drinking them for breakfast since I don't usually eat breakfast (even though I know I should!) They taste great and give me energy for the day. Single serving packs retail for $1.99 and the 2 lb. containers retail for $49.95.)

Petunia Skincare Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review

Hyaluronic acid is a popular skincare agent that provides moisture to the skin and creates a protective barrier to prevent moisture loss. Moisture is the key to preventing wrinkles and signs of aging, so it's important to use serums and moisturizers that provide enough moisture for your facial skin.

Petunia Skincare Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review
Petunia Skincare's Hyaluronic Acid Serum is different than others because it is infused with neroli water (orange blossom water), antioxidants, vitamin c, and ferulic acid (a potent plant antioxidant, according to to create an even more hydrating serum.

The serum comes in a pump bottle, and is a clear gel. It is not runny like some other serums, but has a nice plump thickness to it. It definitely has a natural scent and is very gentle on my skin. The first time I tried it, I did a test on the back of my hand which was really dry and rough. After applying the serum and letting it absorb for a few minutes, I felt the back of my hand again and it was soft as a baby's bottom! It really feels nice and leaves my skin smooth and soft. I use one pump on my face (a little goes a long way) at night, and wake up the next day with refreshed, hydrated skin. I already knew I liked hyaluronic serum before, but this particular version is one of the best I have tried so far.

My favorite part about this serum is that it contains just a handful of 100% natural ingredients and leaves out all the extra junk like parabens, alcohol, or toxic chemicals. It causes no irritation and provides baby-soft skin.

Natural Sleep X - All-in-One Natural Sleep Aid Review

Natural Sleep X - All-in-One Natural Sleep Aid Review I've got to be honest - I don't usually take sleep aids. I'm always concerned about how they will work, whether I'll sleep walk, or if the next day would leave me groggy - or worse, addicted to sleep aids. I have also had bad experiences with medicines that contain sleep aids, like NyQuil, when I once tried to open a 2nd story window in my sleep to go outside. (Thankfully it was locked and never opened!) So I'm often wary about what kinds of supplements I take in regards to sleeping.

But since it's an all-natural herbal formula, I figured I'd give Natural Sleep X a shot. It contains melatonin, chamomile flower, valerian root, and a few other natural ingredients that work together for a good night's sleep. It is non-habit forming and non-addictive, which was very important for me.

The first night I tried it, I took one capsule with water before bed as directed, but I didn't expect to see much difference in my sleep. And I was praying that I didn't sleepwalk. But no joke, I had one of the best night's sleep I've ever experienced. I'm a tosser, a turner, a light sleeper, an occasional sleepwalker, and I get up to use the bathroom several times a night. When taking Natural Sleep X, I didn't get up as often (I think only once) because I was sleeping so deeply. I found that I woke up in the same position I went to sleep in, and I felt super rested the next day. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I tried it again a few nights later. We were getting up at 5 am to go to the Minnesota State Fair, and I didn't get to bed till about midnight. 5 hours of sleep does not typically sit well with me! But I took a Natural Sleep X capsule, went to sleep for 5 hours, and honestly felt energized and wide awake the entire day at the fair. I didn't even feel exhausted when I got home, like I usually do after fair day.

I've used Natural Sleep X several times since then, and have only experienced positive results of a restful night's sleep with energy the next day. No sleep walking or doing crazy things in my sleep. And I am still able to wake up to use the bathroom when needed, since it doesn't totally knock me out. The only downfall of how well this works is that I almost want to take it every night so I sleep well! I assume that would be okay since it's natural and non-habit forming, but I also don't want to use it as the only way I get a good night's sleep. Regardless, it works for me and I plan to use it mainly on the nights before I have a big event or project coming up, when traveling, or when I'm having particular trouble sleeping.

Helping Hand Cell Phone Holder Review

Helping Hand Cell Phone Holder ReviewThe Helping Hand is a 7.5 inch tall phone and tablet holder. It is made of heavy-duty ABS plastic and comes with a washable sticky pad that sits atop the slanted edge of the holder. My phone stuck right to the pad, and didn't fall off even when I held it upside-down.

I did, however, accidentally drop the holder itself when taking it outside to test it in my car, so I had to wash the sand and gravel off the sticky pad with mild soap and warm water and let it air dry, per the instructions. This seemed to work fine, although I would recommend leaving the pad intact on the holder and wiping it with a rag rather than peeling the whole pad off the holder. It was adhered so well that it was really hard to remove! But after washing it, the pad stuck again to the holder and still holds my phone securely. I have been using it for several weeks, and the sticky pad does tend to get dusty after awhile, so it's nice that I can wash it to rejuvenate the stickiness. I have only washed once since the first time, and it's just like new again.

Helping Hand Cell Phone Holder Review

The Helping Hand fits in vehicle cupholders and sets nicely on countertops or desks. It really comes in handy when talking on speakerphone; Whether you have it sitting in front of you on your desk or in your car's cupholder (if you have one up by the steering wheel like I do), you can easily talk on speakerphone without having to hold the phone up by your mouth. Not only does this make it easier for the other person to hear you, but it's safer to keep both hands on the wheel instead of holding the phone. I also appreciate being able to use it when I'm doing my makeup or hair before work and my sister calls me (which happens often!) - I simply turn on speakerphone, set the phone atop The Helping Hand on my bathroom counter, and continue getting ready while we talk.

Helping Hand Cell Phone Holder Review

I also use the stand when I'm reading books on my Kindle app or playing the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game (Don't judge me!) It holds my phone at just the right height so I can play or read without straining to hold onto the phone. It is also a great way to hold my phone or Kindle Fire when using recipes from Pinterest; That way my phone is up off the counter and away from the mess, and I can easily see the recipe while I'm cooking.

Overall, this is a durable stand that works well for me and comes in handy for many situations.

Firmoo Eyeglasses Review + & 40% Discount Code

Firmoo is an online optical store that offers affordable prices on prescription eyewear to customers across the globe. They offer a large selection of frames with several lens options at prices as low as $16.

Firmoo Eyeglasses Review & 40% Discount CodeI always find frames that I like at Firmoo and get lots of compliments on both my prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses from the site. Firmoo offers both prescription and non-prescription lenses for all frames (including sunglasses), or you can order frames without any lenses at all if you're looking for a fashion accessory.

This time, I found the neatest pair of red and white rectangular frames. They were just what I was looking for - I wanted something unique and colorful rather than my regular black frames. I've gotten many compliments and love wearing them with different outfits. It's about time prescription eyewear became fashionable!

The best part about this pair of glasses is the comfortable fit and lightweight feel. Sometimes I get a headache from heavy or tight frames, but these are perfect. Firmoo not only offers a digital "try-on" feature where you can upload your photo (I do this every time I look for new frames), but they also help you figure out things like your PD - Pupillary Distance, the distance between your pupils in millimeters - which helps determine the right size of frames for your face. This is very important when ordering glasses online since you can't physically try them on.

Every pair of frames comes with a nice case, storage bag, cleaning cloth, and repair kit.  I'm very happy with my experience at Firmoo and recommend them for quality, affordable eyewear.

As a special part of their 5th anniversary,
Firmoo would like to offer my readers a 40% discount off frames storewide!

Disclosure: I received a pair of Firmoo eyeglasses in exchange for an honest review. Regardless, all opinions are my own.

Anti-Allergen Pet Shampoo Review

The Ecology Works has created an Anti-Allergen Pet Shampoo to help pets with their allergy sensitivities. This hypoallergenic formula neutralizes protein allergens on contact, so pets can overcome skin problems caused by dust mites. It also limits the production of pet dander and basically makes pet dander harmless, which is a huge allergen for many people.

The shampoo is a clear, thick formula that smells like apple cider. I love the smell so much - I couldn't stop smelling it in the bottle! So I was really excited to give my dog, Dotty, a bath. She wasn't very happy about the bath, but she is all clean and smells fresh. The shampoo has a long-lasting deodorizing formula, so after it has been applied, it doesn't leave a scent but just leaves Dotty smelling neutralized. Her coat is also very soft and conditioned.

Anti-Allergen Pet Shampoo Review

This is a non-toxic, plant and mineral-based formula. It is 100% biodegradable and is safe for all pets. Dotty was a great product tester, but I'd like to try to use this on my cat Rocky too. I have never given him a bath (besides waterless foaming shampoo), and frankly I'm scared to try a bath on him because he hates water. But it would be nice to use this anti-allergen shampoo on both of my pets, since many of my friends are allergic to pet dander. Once I start using this on both pets, my house should be much more people-friendly!

TheraRelief Natural Pain Relief Cream Review

TheraRelief is a natural pain relief and recovery cream that helps the body fight inflammation in joints and muscles. The formula contains compounds such as Glucosamine and Chondroitin that help the body to heal and recover, rather than just temporarily numbing the pain.

TheraRelief Natural Pain Relief Cream Review

This product is great for those affected by arthritis, fibromyalgia, tendonitis, carpal tunnel, or simply overuse and strain on the muscles. I've been using it on my neck and right shoulder, which always bother me after sitting at a computer desk for 8+ hours a day, 5 days a week. One of my favorite things about this cream is that it is unscented. This is the only pain relief cream I've encountered that does not have a scent and actually lives up to it's promise of being odorless. It doesn't smell strong and menthol-y like most other pain relief products do, which is nice because when I'm at work, I don't need to stink up the place with a pain cream. It also does not stain, which is hard to find in a pain relief cream as well. It's an ivory cream color that absorbs quickly and has not left any stains or greasiness on my clothing.

I feel very confident using this product and find that it does help to relieve the pain in my neck and shoulders. It doesn't feel like it has an immediate numbing of the area, but rather it seems to settle in a little more slowly and ease the pain away. TheraRelief contains all-natural ingredients and no parabens.

Train - Bulletproof Picasso Album Review

If you remember the song "Hey Soul Sister" or "Drops of Jupiter", you'll want to check out Train's new album Bulletproof Picasso. This is their 7th studio album and is slated to be released on September 16th. The first single - "Angel in Blue Jeans" - is already playing on the radio and garnering lots of attention.

I received a digital download of this album for review, and so far I am enjoying it. I feel like Train's musical style on this album is one that can be appreciated by anyone and everyone. Many of the songs are upbeat and catchy, with strong lead vocals. My favorite songs are "Cadillac, Cadillac" and "Bulletproof Picasso." They are so fun and catchy, and yet when you listen to the lyrics you realize they also have deeper meaning.

Tracklisting for Bulletproof Picasso:

1. Cadillac, Cadillac
2. Bulletproof Picasso
3. Angel In Blue Jeans
4. Give It All
5. Wonder What You're Doing For The Rest Of Your Life
6. Son Of A Prison Guard
7. Just A Memory
8. I'm Drinkin' Tonight
9. I Will Remember
10. The Bridge
11. Baby, Happy Birthday
12. Don't Grow Up So Fast

Check out the lyrical video for "Cadillac, Cadillac":

You can pre-order a copy of Bulletproof Picasso on iTunes and Amazon, and also check out Train's live performance on QVC tonight, September 5th, at 5 p.m. ET.

I participated in the Train Bulletproof Picasso album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided a free album to review but all opinions are my own.

Phytoceramides Skin Therapy Supplement Review

Phytoceramides Skin Therapy Supplement Review
Phytoceramides are known as a "natural facelift". They are supplements in pill form that work from the inside out, hydrating the skin and binding it together to make thicker. This helps to smooth out the skin and reduce wrinkles and dry skin.

Purley Holistic has created a rice-based phytoceramide formula that is said to be 33% more effective than wheat phytoceramides. It contains all natural ingredients with no fillers. It is also fortified with 100% daily value of Vitamin A, C, D, and E for increased results.

I've been taking this supplement for several weeks now. Day by day, I didn't notice a dramatic difference, but after almost a month, I am seeing my skin look more full and smooth. I don't have noticeable smile lines, the wrinkles and dryness around my eyes have decreased, and it seems like the creases in my neck are smoother now. I also have less flakiness and dryness overall on my facial skin.

I didn't experience any negative side effects, and am glad that this product included vitamins to increase my health even more. Purely Holistic Phytoceramides are made in the USA, gluten free, and vegetarian.

Ageless by Thera Vita Review

Ageless by Thera Vita Review Ageless by Thera Vita is a hyaluronic acid serum inflused with an organic herbal formula. It contains several natural ingredients like aloe, witch hazel, green tea, geranium essential oil, and vitamins A, C, and E. It's paraben-free and contains antioxidants to help restore skin's youthfulness and protect against damage.

This product comes in a nice-sized 1.7 oz pump bottle. It is a thin gel that rubs onto the skin like a liquid. It is immediately cooling and provides a lot of moisture. It feels really good on my skin. I've found that this helps to hydrate my skin and reduce the redness in my cheeks. When I don't use it for several days, I can see a difference and the dry redness starts to return. I use it right after cleansing, and then after it absorbs, I apply my regular night moisturizer.

I'm definitely a fan of hyaluronic acid serums and this one is very gentle and effective. It also has a nice "aloe" smell which I really like - very subtle, but it smells nice.
