Yumi Signature Antioxidant Skin Care Serum Review

Yümi Signature Antioxidant Skin Care Serum is a  25% Vitamin C serum with Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid, Organic Botanicals, and Superfruit Extracts (Pomegranate, Blackberry, Cranberry, Gogi Berry, Noni, Acai Berry, and Kale.) All of the ingredients work together to hydrate, minimize the effects of environmental damage, reduce signs of aging, and create a healthy glow.

Yumi Signature Antioxidant Skin Care Serum Review

This serum comes in a 1 oz pump bottle and is a brownish clear gel that spreads on easily to the skin. It's the perfect consistency - not too thin, not too thick. It feels effective as far as leaving my skin smooth and hydrated with a nice glow. I look much better the day after using it than I do without. It can be used morning and night, but I usually use it only at night after washing my face.

I really like all the ingredients in Yümi Signature Antioxidant Skin Care Serum and my face seems to react well to it. I think Vitamin C is important for your facial skin and helps improve appearance and reduce aging, so I would recommend this.

Adeline Organic Eye Serum

Adeline Organic Eye SerumAdeline Organic Eye Serum is a gentle and all-natural serum that reverses the signs of aging in the eye area. Cucumber extract moisturizes, Chamomile extract reduces puffiness, Aloe leaf juice improves collagen production, Sunflower Seed oil contains vitamins A, C, and E to prevent free radical damage, and Usa Urvi leaf extract is a natural source of hydroquinone which reduces inflammation and the appearance of dark spots.

I've got to say, I've tried many eye serums and creams and this is my all-time favorite so far! It is the perfect combination of effective and gentle. The serum doesn't get sticky or flaky or leave any residue the next morning; It feels great around my eyes - even on my eyelids; And it seems to be helping to reduce puffiness and lighten my under-eye circles, as well as really hydrating my eye area. It is helping keep my delicate skin nourished and healthy, which is really important during the winter when my skin dries out.

I like the little pump bottle, although sometimes too much comes out and I feel like I'm wasting the product. So I would suggest to press lightly on the pump so you don't get more than you can use. This is a great product and I am very happy with it.

It's also alcohol-free, paraben-free, and produced in an FDA-Certified facility.

LeashLocket Dog Leash Review

The LeashLocket is a retractable leash in a locket that conveniently attaches to the dog's collar or harness for easy control when out with your dog. The LeashLocket is available in two sizes (Small/Medium for up to 55 pounds, Large for up to 90 pounds) and several color options. Dotty and I received the Small/Medium size in blue. It weighs just under 3 ounces and extends almost 6 feet.

LeashLocket Dog Leash Review

The LeashLocket comes with an attachment that snaps around the collar and has a really strong magnet with the other magnet on the locket, so when you're done using the leash you can simply attach the locket to the collar. Dotty is less than 15 pounds so I was concerned about this weighing down her collar too much; I consulted the website and found that the company recommends using LeashLocket with a harness for mini/toy breeds so that they can carry it on their backs. This works much better for Dotty although I still wouldn't have her carry the leash for long periods of time. It's recommended that you not let the dog wear the leash all the time anyway - just under supervision. It's really intended for when you're out and about or taking the dog for a ride and want to have a leash handy.

What I love about this product is that the leash is so small and compact that it's convenient to keep in the car or in a pocket/purse to easily pull it out when taking the dog for a quick walk. It fits nicely in my hand and I like having the wrist strap which can be purchased separately. It's much less bulky than other retractable leashes, strong enough for Dotty, and has the convenient option of attaching to her harness. It's a really cool and affordable product that I recommend for anyone with dogs under 90 pounds.

I also really appreciate that a portion of the proceeds from LeashLocket sales is donated to help abused and neglected pets through the LeachLocket ASTRO Foundation. This is really important to me and I plan to continue to support this company.

Body Merry Stretch Marks & Scars Defense Cream Review

Body Merry Stretch Marks & Scars Defense Cream ReviewBody Merry's Strech Marks & Scars Defense Cream is an effective natural and organic formula consisting of cocoa butter and shea butter plus pure plant oils and vitamins. It moisturizes and nourishes skin to reduce the appearance of marks and scars, plus it helps to prevent new ones from forming.

This cream is a nice body butter-like formula that makes it easy to spread and feels really nice and hydrating on my skin. I like that it's not runny like other stretch mark creams. It has an interesting citrus-floral smell. I can't really decide what it smells like and although it's not really my favorite scent, it's not too strong.

I've been using this cream mostly on stretch marks and I do feel like it's softening the skin and helping to make the scars lighter. It's hard to remember to use it everyday but if you're consistent with it, I think this is an effective product.

It's also free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates which is an added (and important!) bonus.

Body Merry Retinol Surge Moisturizer Review

Body Merry Retinol Surge Moisturizer ReviewBody Merry's Retinol Surge Moisturizer contains 2.5% Retinol which is a well-known anti-aging ingredient. It also contains plant-derived hyaluronic acid and natural antioxidants to soothe, hydrate, and nourish skin.

This is a very thick moisturizer that is wonderful to use at night. The Retinol helps keep my skin clear and even, although I can only use it once a day to avoid irritation since I have sensitive and combo/dry skin. For normal skin, it can be used twice a day if desired. The rest of the ingredients really moisturize my skin and make it feel hydrated.

This does leave a little layer on my skin which is fine at night but I wouldn't recommend it under makeup since it feels a little thick. But it's a great moisturizer that keeps my skin looking good. It also comes in a nicely sized 3.4 oz pump bottle.

Retinol Surge Moisturizer does not contain parabens, sulphates, or phthalates, and it's not tested on animals. It's made in the USA in an FDA-registered and GMP-compliant facility.

MIRA Insulated Coffee/Tea Flask Review

The Insulated Coffee/Tea Flask is a double-wall stainless steel vacuum insulated bottle from MIRA Brands. It is free of BPA and Phthalates and claims to keep drinks cold up to 24 hours and hot up to 12 hours.

MIRA Insulated Coffee/Tea Flask ReviewThis bottle is an 11-ounce size, so it's smaller than a normal coffee mug but that makes it great for travel and on-the-go. It has a screw-on cover similar to a thermos, and it doesn't leak at all. The outside of the bottle is a nice white matte finish and doesn't sweat or radiate any heat or cold from inside the bottle so you can have your hand around it even filled with steaming hot liquid.

I wanted to see if it really did keep beverages hot for a long time, so I filled it up with almost-boiling water, and sealed it shut. Keep in mind, I only opened it during the times I checked it, so I wasn't constantly opening to take sips which would cool off the liquid faster. Here are the results:

45 minutes - Scalding
2.5 hours - Burning
4 hours - Hot
6 hours - Hot
8 hours - Still Hot!!

I couldn't believe that after 8 hours - a full day at work - the water still hurt when I put my finger in it for the test. It wasn't even "just warm" but actually still hot. Again, this is after keeping it sealed most of the time and also starting out with really hot liquid, but this just proves how well the insulation works on this flask. It is definitely a great travel flask for coffee, tea, or water. It's easy to throw in a bag or purse and doesn't leak. Highly recommended (just know that it is smaller than a normal mug.)

Dr Song 50% Lactic Acid Face Peel Review

Dr Song 50% Lactic Acid Face Peel Review Dr Song Medical is a cosmetic labratory that provides professional products with a focus on natural ingredients. This face peel is made of Pharmaceutical Grade Lactic Acid. It's a type of chemical peel that is meant to improve wrinkles, skin discolorations, and some types of acne.

I must say that the idea of a chemical peel is a bit scary to me, especially with the warnings that you could burn your skin if not administered correctly. Following the instructions, I tried this on my neck. It did sting pretty bad when leaving it on my skin for the 1 minute, but after washing it off, it didn't leave any burns or irritations. My skin did feel smoother and more glowing, but I still didn't use it on my entire face because my facial skin is already pretty irritated from the cold Minnesota winter air and I feel like this would irritate it further. I would not recommend this for sensitive or already-irritated skin, but if you have healthy normal skin, I can see how this product would work well. It doesn't actually "peel", but just washes off, leaving smoother skin.

Be sure to follow all the directions to a T and make sure you don't leave the Dr Song Lactic Acid Face Peel on more than a minute, because it can cause severe burns if used incorrectly. There is definitely a risk with doing a chemical peel in your own home, but it's more affordable than going to a doctor's office or spa.

Origins by Luxurience Anti-Aging Moisturizer Review

Origins by Luxurience Anti-Aging Moisturizer Review Origins is a new anti-aging moisturizer from Luxurience that provides hypo-allergenic skin rejuvenation. It contains a patented peptide formula that illuminates dull skin, and it uses plant-based ingredients to enhance skin's natural defenses. The formula also contains Matrixyl which has been shown to boost collagen to reduce wrinkles and tighten skin.

This smooth white cream goes on really silky and absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy feel. I was concerned about the peppermint oil which is one of the ingredients in this formula and can sometimes be irritating - but it must only be a small amount because this moisturizer doesn't irritate my skin at all. It also smells really nice and Christmas-y with a very subtle mint smell! I feel like my skin looks more youthful and overall reacts really well to this moisturizer.

Luxurience is a small family-run company that pampers its customers through specialty skincare products. Their Origins moisturizer is made in the USA at an FDA-registered facility. It is also paraben-free and non-toxic. I recommend it.

Suddora Pink Ribbon Sweatbands Review

Suddora is a company that provides sports accessories for both individuals and teams or groups. Their accessories are great for high school football teams, fundraisers, intramurals, and more. I received the Pink Ribbon Sweatband Set, which includes a headband and two wristbands made of pink material and each featuring embroidered pink ribbons on them.

Suddora Pink Ribbon Sweatbands Review

These are super soft bands made of 80% cotton, 12% spandex, and 8% nylon. They're so much more comfortable than I expected! They also stay on really well without being too tight, and are very absorbent.

Suddora Pink Ribbon Sweatbands ReviewMy aunt died from breast cancer so the pink ribbon means a lot to me, and I enjoy wearing these sweatbands when working out to show my support. These would be great for breast cancer awareness events and fundraisers, and are available with lower pricing for larger quantities. The wristbands are also available in black or white material with the pink ribbon logo.

Overall, these sweatbands are comfortable, well-fitting, and absorbent in addition to being a stylish way to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Kobert Waterproof Case Review

The Kobert Waterproof Case is a specially designed case to keep phones and other devices dry in any type of weather or environment. It keeps devices dry underwater, free of dust and sand, and protected in the elements (snow, rain, sleet.) It's perfect for swimming, skiing, hiking, surfing, canoeing, jetskiing, fishing, snorkeling, and more!

The case has a clear front and back so that you can still take photos and videos with your phone or camera, plus you can use your touch screen through the case. It's even easier with the included stylus pen, which I really enjoy using.

The inner bag size is 3.34" x 6.49". It fits many phones including: iPhones, Samsung Galaxy, Note Nokia Lumia,Windows Phone 8x, Nexus 4, and HTC One. My LG Spectrum fit perfectly in this case. The first thing I did after opening the case was the"test run" they recommend using a piece of tissue paper in the case and submerging it in water for 5 minutes. This ensures that the product is working properly (and if not, they will replace it.) I conducted the test and sure enough - the tissue paper came out perfectly dry! The seals on the bag are easy to use and it basically locks shut. When I did take the case out of the water and dried it off, I opened the seals and had to shake that part out a little bit as a bit of water does get into the top area, which you probably don't want getting on your phone. But there was no water whatsoever inside the case or on the tissue paper.

Kobert Waterproof Case Review
After the underwater test - DRY!
Kobert Waterproof Case Review
Testing the seal with tissue paper
I'm very impressed with the quality of this waterproof case and would feel very confident using it around water, snow, or sand. I would probably use this most while fishing and camping, so I no longer have to worry about my phone getting wet or dirty. This comes with a neckstrap too so it's easy to carry during outdoor activities.

Idina Menzel Holiday Wishes Album Review

I'm so excited to be bringing you a review of Idina Menzel's Christmas album Holiday Wishes! Idina is the voice of Elsa in Frozen (If you haven't seen it, stop what you're doing right now and go watch it!) plus she's a Broadway star in such productions as Rent, Wicked, and If/Then. Her voice is one-of-a-kind and very soulful.

The music on Holiday Wishes will appeal to anyone looking for a heartfelt and fun Christmas album to listen to this season. Idina recreates the classics in such a way that they're still "the classics" (no hip-hop renditions or anything!) but each song has her personal spin on them. My favorite song on the album is Baby It's Cold Outside which is a duet with Michael Buble. It's so jazzy and fun and makes me feel all warm and cozy. I love to sing along to this one.

My other favorites include Holly Jolly Christmas, All I Want For Christmas Is You, and her rendition of White Christmas in which Idina puts a totally new spin on part of the melody. This is the last song on the album and leaves you with a feeling of wonder and awe - Kind of like looking into Narnia. Kenny G. is also featured in those last two songs I mentioned. (You know it's a good Christmas album when Kenny G. makes an appearance!)

I was surprised to hear the song When You Wish Upon A Star on a holiday album but it makes sense since it has a wintery, magical vibe to it. The other songs were great too, but of course I have my favorites and like to listen to them on repeat! Idina has an amazing voice and I'm so glad she made a Christmas album to share her voice with us this season. I had so much fun singing along to this album while putting up my Christmas tree and decorations!

Overall, this album has a good mix of traditional and unique holiday songs performed with great vocals and instrumentals that leave you with a magical feeling. If you're looking for a new album this season, I highly recommend Holiday Wishes. Buy it now at iTunes or Amazon!

I participated in the Idina Menzel Holiday Wishes album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided an album to review but all opinions are my own.

Military Family Appreciation Month: MetLife TRICARE Dental Program #sponsored #MetLifeTDP

I participated in an Ambassador program on behalf of Influence Central for the MetLife TRICARE Dental Program. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Military Family Appreciation Month: MetLife TRICARE Dental Program

November is National Military Family Appreciation Month and in light of the month just wrapping up, I'd like to talk a little bit about how military families can benefit from programs like the MetLife TRICARE Dental Program.

If you're in a military family, then you probably understand how even the simplest things in life can get complicated. From moving to new places to changes in the family dynamic, sometimes things like dental care can fall to the wayside. But dental health is so important for your family, since it can affect the rest of the body. Gum disease and tooth decay can even lead to heart disease and diabetes in some cases. Scary huh? So instead of dealing with problems after they get bad, the best thing you can do is enroll your family in a dental plan and get regular preventive care. Not only is it important for your health, but I personally feel like having clean and healthy teeth is important for overall wellness and even self-confidence. Afterall, A smile is a light in the window of the soul, as they say.

The MetLife TRICARE Dental Program is a convenient and cost-effective way for military families to have continuous dental coverage despite changes in location, life events, or military status. It applies to spouses and children of active duty service members and to National guard and Reserve members and their families. This program offers coverage worldwide so the dental coverage moves with you no matter where you relocate, making it convenient and one less thing to think about. There are free annual exams, out-of-pocket costs are minimized, and premiums are government-supported for most members - making coverage very affordable. Even if a military family has the option of dental insurance through an employer, they can still compare costs and choose the TRICARE Dental Program.

The MetLife TRICARE Dental Program is part of the TRICARE Health Plan for military families. However, you must enroll separately in the TRICARE Dental Program to obtain dental coverage for your family. So enroll today to maintain the health, wellness, and happiness of your military family. For more information and to enroll in this program, please visit: http://www.metlife.com/tricare.

Bio'Sensiya Rejuvenating MultiVitamin Night Time Serum

Bio'Sensiya Rejuvenating MultiVitamin Night Time Serum is full of lots of vitamins and organic ingredients to help create a more youthful appearance. It diminishes fine lines, age spots, uneven skin tone, and over time it increases firmness and elasticity of the skin. This serum contains 1.5% Retinol (Vitamin A) which improves skin tone as well as managing acne; 15% Vitamin C to protect against free radicals; and Vitamin D which prevents moisture loss. It also contains Vitamins B and E, and Hyaluronic and Ferulic Acids.

Bio'Sensiya Rejuvenating MultiVitamin Night Time Serum

This yellowish serum has a citrus-y scent that reminds me of citronella. It's not bothersome but definitely an interesting scent for a facial serum. (I'm assuming it's just lemon but to me it smells like summer nights with a citronella candle burning!) Anyway, the serum goes on smoothly and makes my skin feel tighter after applying. It's slightly moisturizing and seems to do it's job as far as providing a more even skin tone and antioxidants. The Retinol is something I really like in a night serum, however make sure not to use it too much or too often if it irritates your skin. I use it once in the evening after cleansing, and then follow with a moisturizer, and the next morning my skin looks clear and healthy.

I really like how packed with amazing ingredients the Bio'Sensiya Multivitamin Serum is. Aside from all the vitamins, it also includes Frankincense, Argan Oil, Seabuckthorn Oil, and Green Tea. It's packed with effective ingredients and seems to work well.

Display-Sheet Makeup Bag Review

I have a ton of makeup and it's hard to keep it all in one place. The worst thing is having it all in a carrying case but then having to dig through all the products to find the one I want to use! Enter the Display-Sheet Makeup bag - a drawstring bag with a display sheet that you can pull out and dump all your makeup onto. Then after applying your makeup, you simply lift the display sheet and slide the items back into the bag. Easy peasy!

Display-Sheet Makeup Bag Review

This little bag holds lots of makeup - more than I even use on a daily basis. The photo above is just a fraction of what can all fit in the bag. But it is nice and compact for travel or just everyday storage. (There's a large version too, but I prefer the small.) I love love love the whole idea of this and how easy it makes applying makeup. It's so nice to be able to see all of my products laid out without the hassle of picking them up one by one to put back in a bag.

The Display-Sheet Makeup bag is made of nylon fabric and seems like it's easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. It does cinch up, although I wish it had a clasp at the end of it to keep it more contained during travel. But it works to tie the string up to keep the bag closed.

Display-Sheet Makeup Bag Review

Overall, I like this little product - it keeps me organized and makes quick work of viewing all my makeup at once. Plus it's really affordable too.

Aurorae's Sport/Yoga Mat Towel Review

Aurorae Yoga is a company that provides all things yoga - mats, bags, accessories and more. I have a yoga mat from Aurorae Yoga and I love it! Recently I got to review the sport/yoga mat towel which pairs perfectly with my mat - It's the same long size as the mat and is very lightweight. But since it is microfiber, it's super absorbent too. It creates a slip-free surface on the yoga mat as well as absorbing any sweat during practice.

Aurorae's Sport/Yoga Mat Towel Review

I am very impressed with the absorbency of this towel - I've been even using it as a towel after showering and it really absorbs much more than you'd think. It's so lightweight which makes it perfect to keep in my workout bag, but it really soaks up a lot of sweat and water. I especially like it for drying off my long hair.

Aurorae's Sport/Yoga Mat Towel Review

For yoga practice, it really does keep my hands from slipping and has a kind of a grippy feel even though it's so soft. When rolling up the mat you could just roll up the towel right into it. I also appreciate that it's machine washable, which is important to keep it hygienic. Overall, I'm a big fan of Aurorae Yoga and recommend this mat for workouts or yoga practice.
